Praxis Partners was established in May 2000 as a dedicated supplier of legal and claims services to the Insurance Industry.
The firm was established by 2 Partners, Andrew McDougall and Jane Dixon and 2 Consultants, all formerly with Hammond Suddards.
The Firm now has 7 Partners and 140 staff including 70 Fee Earners based at offices in Leeds.

Cogent Partnership operates from a network of offices, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool Birmingham, Bristol, Croydon and Bromley providing Defendant litigation services to a major Insurer.
Cogent - Law LLP is a specialist Claimant practice offering services dedicated to policyholders of a major Insurer who have the benefit of Before the Event Insurance cover. The firm operates from premises in Leeds and Croydon.
Plexus - North Through an association with Plexus Law we offer certain specialist Defendant services from offices in Leeds.
Laurus LLP is a specialist practice providing both Defendant and Claimant services to a major insurance partner operating from offices in Croydon, Leeds and Folkstone.

Our core business is the provision of claims handling and legal services to Insurers and Risks Carriers defending claims made against policy holders. We have a large, well resourced and motivated work force to support this one area of business. We focus on nothing else but Insurance work. We act for a significant section of the Insurance Market and have experience in all areas of Insurance work.
Our work covers the full range from routine damage only claims, to multi-million pound catastrophic injury cases. We are at the forefront of the challenges facing Insurers across all lines of business, be it failure to educate and stress claims or challenges to multipliers and periodical payments.
For each client we provide a dedicated team of lawyers who work together as a team and aim to be integrated with the clients' handling processes. We ensure we have lawyers at the right level of experience and skill set assigned to each aspect of any individual claim.
We believe in providing clear concise advice addressing the commercial objectives of our clients. We proactively move cases towards settlement or disposal. We promote a settlement culture and critically appraise each proposed step in the process to assess whether, on a cost benefit analysis, it is justified.
At the heart of our approach is the use of our case management system which is a true workflow/task allocation system combined with full document production resources. This ensures cases are quickly and efficiently processed, that a clear case plan is developed for each matter and that the case plan is actioned in order to achieve the case objective.
We have a number of specialist fee earner teams with expertise in the following areas:- Asbestos, VWF, NIHL, PTSD and Stress, Upper Limb Disorder, Dermatitis, MIB Claims, Credit Hire, Failure to educate claims, Asthma and Respiratory Diseases, Police and Public Authority claims, Advocacy Services, Subsidence, Cable Damage, Professional Risks.
We have close links with a specialist Cost Drafting Company, Acumen Costs and for specific Clients provide services under brands dedicated to their work; Cogent; Plexus; Laurus.

We offer a number of bespoke schemes for Insurers handling recovery work both for their outlay and for policy holders.
We also provide a range of advice and helpline schemes.
We have considerable experience of acting for Utilities in connection with cable damage claims. We offer a tailored recovery programme which is managed by one of our Partners, Chris Foulkes.

We offer a number of on-line services to our clients. We use a sophisticated workflow system to manage our cases and give our clients access to their own cases via a secure link.
We also offer Clients access to our data warehouse of statistical information for their portfolio of work including time/cost records.
